Bentonsport Riverfest 2023 Oct Event Info

An outdoor event that is located in the riverside park in the historic district with flea market, crafts, resale, antiques, demonstrators and baked goods.
This is a family friendly event and pornographic items or wording in nature are not permitted.
Food vendors are limited and anyone interested in participating in future events can send in information about their products and contact information for our waiting list.
Vendor set up fees:
*BOOTH FEE: The fee for “Bentonsport Flea Market & Craft Show” weekend:
May-$20 for 10 x 10 or less, $30 or up to 10 x 20, $10 for added space
October - $25 for 10 x 10 or less, $50.00 for up to 10 x 20, $10 for added space
There is a $25.00 fee for any returned checks. Above prices do not include fee for electricity / early set-up.

Set Up Location:
Specific areas can be reserved when applications and payment are turned in, if space is available and vendor specifies the location they prefer. If the space is taken, we will contact you for an alternative choice. Please indicate if you have special needs.
Electric is limited and size of your set up may also be a factor in determining where we can set you up.
Outdoor event:
Vendors should come prepared with a tent or cover for weather.
Tent set up will be along the riverside park.
Smaller campers, trailers or vehicles will not be allowed on grounds if the ground is soft. We will try to find an alternate place if possible.
May and Oct are 2 day events
The May event brings in approx. 800 visitors
The October event is part of a county wide Scenic Drive and brings in 8-11 thousand visitors in the county. Bentonsport Historic District is one of the top places visited on this weekend with music, Art Show, Antique and Craft show.
All participants MUST check in with Cheryl prior to booth set-up at the Shelter House in the park (you may have to wait if she is elsewhere setting up others)
Participants will be charged a $5 early fee and must be approved to come on the Thurs. before the event.
ELECTRICITY: Electricity is $12 for 110 plug, $15 for 20 amp, $21 for 30 amp for the 2-3 days. It is ONLY AVAILABLE for vendors that arrange and pay for electricity with the VBCCB. If you are using electricity that was not approved by the VBCCB, you will be forced to unplug immediately.
IOWA SALES TAX PERMIT NUMBER: An Iowa Sales Tax Permit Number must be supplied by all participants. It is the responsibility of the vendor to report and take care of their sales tax after the event. Apply with the Iowa Tax Revenue site online if you need a tax permit.
SHOW HOURS: Show hours are
Oct- 10am – 5pm on Saturday and 10am – 5 pm on Sunday.
Early and late sales are permitted.
SECURITY: There is no hired security. The VBCCB is not responsible for any stolen or damage products, tents or other items in vendor booths.
CODE OF CONDUCT: The VBCCB reserves the right to refuse anyone using inappropriate language or behavior or displaying undesirable items. Vendors displaying a poor attitude toward other vendors, customers or staff will be addressed immediately. This is at the discretion of the VBBCB and the decision is final. Anyone not abiding by these rules will be asked to leave.
PARKING: Vendor vehicles may park nearby their sales unit if room is available. Vendor will keep vehicle off soft wet ground and areas that do not block or impede other vehicles.
CAMPING: Overnight camping is allowed at the vendor sales unit pending area and not over 30 ft or in the campgrounds.
RESTROOMS: Located in the Greef General Store, at the shelterhouse on the East end of park, and an SST on the West end of the park. Extra Portable units will be scheduled for the Oct. event. There is a shower that vendors can use while at the event that is with the shower house on the east end.
PETS: Owners will be responsible for cleaning up after their pets and keeping the public safe from any aggressive behavior by pets.
