48th Annual Bentonsport Art Show
​Oct. 14 & 15  2023


   This year’s 48th Annual Fine Arts/Craft Festival is located in Riverside Park, in front of the Rose Garden in Bentonsport, Iowa, nestled near the Des Moines River. The art show is in conjunction with the Van Buren County Fall Festival. This is an annual event that happens every year in the month of October during the changing of the seasons.  The event brings thousands of visitors to the county from all over the Tri-state area and beyond.
            This is a JURIED SHOW.  Artists that participated in last year’s show are automatically accepted and DO NOT need to submit photos.  NEW ARTISTS/ARTISANS are asked to submit 2 photos of your work and 1 of your booth space to [email protected].  If you would rather mail photos (4x6), mail to Mary Sederburg, 13122 Highway K, Arbela, MO 63432.
            All work must be original in design and created by the artist. Please keep reproductions (2D artist prints) to 25% of booth space.  No commercial molds/kits, 3rd party representation of retail goods, wholesale market goods accepted.
            CATEGORIES include Photography/Jewelry/Painting (Acrylic, Oil, Watercolor, Casein, Gouche)/Drawing (Pencil, Charcoal, Ink, Oil or Soft Pastel)/Fine Art Woodworking/Pottery/Metal/Glass/Mixed Media/Clay.
            All categories will be judged together and the Arts Council will be providing some AWARDS.
            Pre-registration is $40 before September 30 and $50 after that date.  BOOTH SPACES are 12 feet wide x 14 feet deep with at least 4 feet between booth spaces for social distancing. You will be setting-up in the center of a 12 ft wide area. This is an outdoor show. Please be prepared for all weather conditions.  No alternate indoor sites are available. Show will be held Rain or Shine!
            SET UP/SHOW TIME is Friday, October 13, 2023, from 11 am to 5 pm.  Saturday, October 14 from 7 am to 9:30 am. Please sign-in with Arts Council members on site. (Mary Sederburg/Betty Printy).  Artists are responsible for setting up booths.  Questions can be answered by Art Council members.  Vehicles are allowed to pull up to booth space to unload/load if ground is firm.  If grassy area is soft due to heavy rain, you will need to unload from road in front of art show area.  Vehicles are not allowed by booth space during show hours.
            SHOW TIME is Saturday October 14, 10 am to 5 pm and Sunday, October 15 from 10 am to 4 pm.
            SECURITY is not provided. An artist may volunteer to “Camp out” in booth or if you have an RV/camper, you may park on road by art show. If you are interested in doing this, please let us know. Otherwise, artists that are camping must be in campground area.
