Campground Hosts Needed
April – Mid Oct. 2021


Lake Sugema Campground Camp Hosts
  Enjoy the summer at this lakeside campground.  Free site with concrete pad, water, sewer and electrical hookup in exchange for hosting and receive $200/mo up to 6 months.

Lake Sugema is a 575 acre man made fishing lake popular for Crappie, Bluegill, Catfish and Bass. Located in Van Buren County, Iowa which is known for historic villages, events, trails and a unique visitor experience. 
Attendants provide guests with customer service, information, handle cash, resolve issues, and clean the campground and restrooms, and other functions to ensure a great experience
Previous campground hosting experience and customer service experience preferred
Duties include, but not limited to:
  • Handle reservations
    • Prepare and distribute reservation slips
    • Assist campers to find there spots on arrival
    • Insure site is open for incoming reservation
    • Handle any drive in camping including collecting payment.
  • Maintenance
    • Clean camp area and fire rings
    • Clean showers and restroom facilities
    • Clean SST and shelter house
    • Maintain Kiosk
  • Working with Conservation staff, Volunteers, Public, and Local authorities
    • Notify proper personnel in event of an emergency
    • Notify conservation staff on any repairs needed
    • Keep records and report to conservation staff of any comments or concerns campers have
    • Provide directions and information to park visitors and campers

Bentonsport Campground Hosts
Next to the scenic Bentonsport Historic District and along the Des Moines River lies a secluded campground for a quiet getaway.  Free site with water and electric provided for the camp  hosts.  Attendants provide guests with customer service, information, resolve issues, and clean the campground and restrooms, and other functions to ensure a great experience

Duties include, but not limited to:
  • Handle reservations
    • Prepare and distribute reservation slips
    • Assist campers to find there spots on arrival
    • Insure site is open for incoming reservation
    • Handle any drive in camping
  • Maintenance
    • Clean camp area and fire rings
    • Clean showers and restroom facilities  
    • Clean SST 's and shelter house
    • Maintain Kiosk
    • Pick up trash in park weekly and special events
  • Working with Conservation staff, Volunteers, Public, and Local authorities
    • Notify proper personnel in event of an emergency
    • Notify conservation staff on any repairs needed
    • Keep records and report to conservation staff of any comments or concerns campers have
    • Provide directions and information to park visitors and campers
