Bentonsport Campgrounds

Bentonsport Campground, next to Des Moines River
Located 1 block from Bentonsport, this scenic campground is nestled alongside the Des Moines River. Relax and enjoy the scenery and fishing - no reservations needed!
The campground is traditionally only at capacity during the Forest Craft Festival, the second weekend of October. Anyone seeking a campsite during that weekend is advised to setup at least 4 or 5 days prior the event.
Camp tickets can be found just inside the entrance and can be left at the lock box upon leaving. A shelterhouse with bathrooms is open 24 hours, and modern sites include gravel camp pads, picnic tables, fire rings, and 30-50 amp electricity. A boat ramp is nearby, and all Bentonsport craft and antique shops, museums and sights are within walking distance. Update on the camping spots next to the river
7-28-2011 The camp pads along the river are now open for primitive at $7 or if there is a long enough cord a camper can plug into another site's electric box if a plug is available at $10.00.
